Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is E-Z Carpet Care's TruDry™ dry carpet cleaning system really dry?

A:   For all practical purposes, yes. There is a very small amount of moisture in the pre-mist product. That moisture is absorbed when the dry carpet powder is applied and does not remain in the carpet. And because TruDry™ leaves no water in the carpet, it doesn't encourage the growth of mold, bacteria or other biological organisms like wet cleaning methods can.

Q:   Is E-Z Carpet Care's TruDry™ dry carpet cleaning system safe?

A:   Absolutely. Our dry carpet cleaning system is safe for use in homes with children and pets. All of the products that we use are deemed "Green Safe" and are environmentally and ecologically friendly. A substance dangerous to the client is of little practical value. Since its introduction in the 1970's, our dry carpet cleaning product has been tested on multiple occasions by outside laboratories to ensure that it is non-toxic. In all cases, it was found to meet all known requirements for being listed as a non-toxic consumer product.

Q:   Should I wait until my carpet shows soiling before I have it cleaned?

A:   No. Regular maintenance with E-Z Carpet Care can help maintain the new look of your carpet. All residential carpet should be professionally cleaned a minimum of every 12 to 18 months. Some manufacturers even require professional cleanings to meet warranty claims. Also, allowing dry soils to build up in the carpet pile scars pile fiber, allowing it to take on a dull, dirty hue. This permanent fiber damage will give the impression of soiling even after carpet cleaning.

Q:   Is it possible to clean my carpet too often?

A:   No. The more often a carpet is cleaned with E-Z Carpet Care's dry cleaning system, the longer it will maintain its original appearance. It is an excellent idea to clean high traffic areas and areas of heavy soiling regularly (every 1-2 months) and clean entire rooms several times per year.

Q:   What is E-Z Carpet Care's recommendation for cleaning spots?

A:   Spot removal should be done daily as needed. Prompt treatment is critical. The longer a spot is allowed to set, the more difficult it is to remove. Some spots will leave permanent staining if allowed to remain until dry. Blot up (don't rub) liquid using a clean, all white cloth or paper towel. Begin at the edge of the spot and work toward the center, repeating the blotting action. Use caution when choosing spotting chemicals as some can actually take a spot and change it into a permanent stain.

Q:   Will carpet cleaning destroy my soil-resist or stain-resist treatment?

A:   No. It is not necessary to reapply soil and stain-resist treatments after every carpet cleaning. However, foot traffic can destroy some soil-resist treatments. Soil-resist treatments should be reapplied after every two to three carpet cleanings if the carpet is cleaned regularly. Carpet that is not cleaned every 12 to 18 months may require a soil resist treatment after each carpet cleaning.
